Learning how to give better
This phase is all about testing the strength of two key hypotheses.
1) Practicing making charitable decisions can improve people's behavior over the short or long term
2) This format is scalable
To test these hypotheses, I'm working with groups of socially active students to conduct a series of small scale pilot runs (donations in the $50-$500 range). These pilot games are not meant to be perfect, they're meant to gather important information quickly through an iterated learning process. What formats make people want to engage more? Which choices between charities are the most interesting? What would participants like to see change?
We're also pursuing funding student research of this basic form, to broaden the data set collected in this phase. Possible fields include, but are not limited to, Economics, Psychology, Philosophy, and Education. Contact Us if you want to learn more about this opportunity.
